Are you an educator looking for ways to create more peace, belonging and wellbeing for you and your students this new school year?

Have you been searching for a short, reasonably priced and meaningful professional development experience where you can earn  3 or 6 credits for salary advancement  and recertification online?

I am excited to share that for only $198 and 1/2 day participating online per course, educators can earn 3 university credits for recertification and salary advancement from Shepherd University. Educators everywhere are invited to explore the 5 Strategies of the Virtues Projects in order to develop tools and strategies to bring joy, meaning, and purpose back to teaching and learning.  The restorative practices framework honors the needs of the Whole Child and the Whole Adult. It has social and emotional character development at its foundation and is trauma and culturally responsive. It is personal, professional and organizational transformation, equipping you with the skills, tools and strategies to apply in all aspects of your life in and out of the classroom. As a result of participating in this course, you will be able to:

  • Balance academic rigor and accountability with supporting the needs of the Whole Child.
  • Use language to build trust and increase hope, engagement, and wellbeing.
  • Recognize Teachable Moments to develop an individual’s inherent strengths, abilities and authentic self-esteem.
  • Utilize Virtues-based boundaries and restorative justice to create safer schools and end the school to prison pipeline by promoting self-discipline, personal responsibility & integrity.
  • Listen with compassionate curiosity to empower others to find clarity and create their own solutions.

Part 1 introduces these practices and techniques to uphold them in the classroom. Part 2 deepens understanding and provides a stronger focus into the Restorative Justice framework and the Art of Companioning as a counseling strategy.

Part 1 can be taken as a standalone course, and is a prerequisite for Part 2.
